6.2. Downloading PCL fonts

We are not going to review the details about downloading PCL fonts due to the scope. If you are interested, you may visit Morovia Knowledge-base at http://support.morovia.com and search with the keyword “PCL font download”.

You can download PCL fonts to printer from the DOS command line by using the download.bat batch file that came with the font package. The batch file in turn uses the font-id.txt and set-font.txt files in the package. To download font into printer, type the following from the DOS command line:

download [PCL font name] [PRINTER-NAME]

When typing this, be sure to replace [PCL font name] with the actual filename used on your computer. This batch file downloads the font to your printer as font #80, and make it permanent. Any other fonts in your printer that were downloaded as font#80 will be overwritten in the printer's memory. Once it is downloaded, perform a font list print out from your printer's control panel. You should see the font name MRV DataMatrix in the font list printed.
